Geoff qualified as a Solicitor in January 1990 after successfully completing his Law Society Final Examinations in Newcastle. As a newly qualified Solicitor he worked for a firm in Newcastle before moving to South Shields in 1991. He became a Partner in Small Hindson & Co. Following a merger with Southern Stewart & Walker in September 1997 Geoff moved to our Beach Road office where he remains. Geoff’s early career focused on claimant personal injury work. He was a member of the Law Society’s Specialist Personal Injury Panel for 20 years and was a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) for a similar length of time, fighting for the rights of injured claimants. He now combines some personal injury work with Wills, Probate and Elderly Client services.

Geoff’s current hourly charging rate is £220.00 plus VAT and £22.00 plus VAT for routine letters and telephone calls.

The firm attained Lexcel accreditation in April 2012 and has been a member of the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) since July 2012. Geoff played a key role in securing the initial accreditations and the annual re-accreditations since then. Geoff is the firms Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and Compliance Officer for Financial Affairs (COFA) and Data Protection Officer.
